IRPA is the international voice of the radiation protection profession. It is an association of radiation protection professionals joining through national and regional radiation protection societies. We promote the worldwide enhancement of professional competence, radiation protection culture, and practice by providing benchmarks of good practice, and encouraging the application of the highest standards of professional conduct, skills, and knowledge for the benefit of individuals and society.

Young Generation Network

The IPRA Young Generation Network (YGN) is an international network of Young Professionals across the field of Radiation Protection. Membership is open to all members of national radiation protection YGN’s and, where a national YGN is not in place, students or professionals working within the first 10 years of their career.

Sievert Award

The International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) is pleased to announce Dr. María del Rosario Pérez as the winner of the 2024 Rolf M. Sievert Award. This award is made in recognition of outstanding contributions to radiological protection and honours the memory of a pioneer in radiological protection, Professor Rolf Sievert.

2024 Election of the Executive Council Members of the Association

IRPA-IAEA Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

2024-01-08 As IRPA President, Dr. Bernard Le Guen, wrote in the September IRPA Bulletin, IRPA has recently signed an MoU with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). A copy of the agreement is now posted on the IRPA website - check it out to see all the details!

IRPA16 Call for Papers Extended

2023-10-03 The deadline for submitting abstracts for IRPA 16 has been extended to Dec. 1, 2023. Visit the IRPA 16 website (http://burkclients.com/IRPA/2024/site/call_for_papers.html) to submit an abstract and for other details.

2023-07-31 The 16th International Congress of the IRPA (IRPA16) will take place during July 7-12, 2024, in Orlando, USA, with the theme: Radiation Harmonization: Standing United for Protection. All abstracts must be submitted by 1 October 2023.
